Jacqueline Fernandez hails from Manama in Bahrain. She grew up in an multiethnic family. Her father, Elroy Fernandez is a an Sri Lankan. Jacqueline is the oldest of two brothers and a younger sister. It was because of the war that raged in Lanka that her parents chose to move to Bahrain. Following her education in Bahrain, she was awarded an Scholarship to attend the University of Sydney, where she completed a bachelor's diploma with a major in Media and Communications in Sydney, Australia. In order to further her passion for different cultures, languages and languages she enrolled in the Berlitz language schools in order to study Spanish in addition to improving French and Arabic. Miss Sri Lanka 2006 won Miss Universe 2006 competition in March 2006 and she competed as Miss Universe 2006 also. After winning Miss Sri Lanka title in 2006, she took on the world of television. She anchored a show that was a business show in Sri Lanka known as Lanka Business Report. Padukone is the child of of badminton champ Prakash Padukone. Padukone grew as a child in Bangalore however, she is a native of Copenhagen. Padukone played in the national championships while young teenagers, however she decided to give her sports career up to become a model. Padukone is from Mangalorean heritage and her native language is Konkani. Padukone Village is located inside Kundapura Taluk within the Udupi District of Karnataka within India. Prakash Padukone is her father as well as a former badminton pro with international recognition. Her mother is a travel agent.
